Her therapist had noticed something about her years before she understood it herself.

Zosia Mamet spent years showing up at work — confident, assertive, fully herself — while quietly being a passenger in her personal life. Her therapist saw the split long before Zosia could name it. It took her father, playwright David Mamet, to give it a name: DOCTOR THEATER.

The idea is simple and a little eerie. Something turns on the moment you step onstage and carries you through anything — illness, grief, collapse — then dissolves the moment the curtain drops. Zosia says that mechanism explains more about who she is than almost anything else.
