Former Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson breaks down the unseen stories behind his new photography book I Bet This Looks Good On Your Coffee Table, featuring rare, behind-the-scenes moments from the band’s rise out of the Sheffield music scene. In this clip from The Plug w/ Justin Jay, Andy reveals how he captured intimate photos the band didn’t even notice, including backstage access at Saturday Night Live that no outside photographer could have gotten.
Andy talks about documenting one of the most influential indie rock bands of their generation, rediscovering forgotten hard-drive archives, and how these images became part of his book capturing the early Arctic Monkeys era.
If you love Arctic Monkeys, music photography, or early-2000s indie rock history, this interview gives a rare look at the band’s world from someone who lived it with a camera in hand.
